Citación :
Be (am/are/is/)

  • We can use adjectives, nouns or expressions of place after be.
  • Use Capital letter. e.g: I'm your mother.

  • You = singular and plural.

  • Use he for a man, she for a woman, and it for a thing.

  • Use they for people and things.

  • In contractions ' = a missing letter, e.g. 'm = am.

  • Use contractions in conversation.

Positive sentences: Subject + verb to be + adjective(s)

She is late - She's late
I am hungry - I'm hungry
They are pilots - There're pilots

Negatives: Subject + verb to be + not + adjectives.

She is not late = She isn't late
I am not hungry = I'm not hungry
They are not pilots = They arent's pilots.

Questions : Verb to be + subject + adjectives.

Is she late?
Am I hungry?
Are they pilots?

Remember: flower

  • Put not after the verb to make negative -
  • You can also contract are not and is not like this:

    • You are not italian = You're not Italian = You aren't Italian.

    </li>

  • In questions, put be before you, he, ect.

We use a special structure with be - there is/ there are - to introduce things: to say that they exist.
Forms: there is/there are + verb to be + adjectives

There is a strange woman at the door - There's a strange woman at the door.

There are many room here - There're many rooms here.

  • If you need excercises then here find it!
